Kevin Albert donates the Kevin Albert Family Fund Program in Applied Microeconomics

The Department of Economics is pleased to announce the establishment of the Kevin Albert Family Fund Program in Applied Microeconomics. The Fund supports research in applied microeconomics. Researchers affiliated with the Fund engage in research addressing a wide variety of important issues including: Changes in the "returns" to education, the effects of economic crises in developing countries; the effects of welfare reform; the efficacy of job training programs and early intervention programs for disadvantaged children; the reasons for rising health insurance costs; effects of government regulation in the market for services; social security reform; rising inequality and the economic consequences of changes in the family. The Fund also supports speaker series and special events of interest to applied microeconomists.
