2009 Commencement
The Department of Economics Commencement will be held on Saturday, June 13, at 6:00 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion. Graduating students will line-up on the north side of Pauley Pavilion (between Pauley and the Intramural Field) beginning around 5:15 p.m. The doors to Pauley Pavilion will open up at 5:00 p.m. for your ticketed guests. Although there are enough seats for all of your guests, seat selection is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Academic regalia (caps and gowns) is now available for ordering via your my.ucla. To ensure that you receive your requested size, it is recommended that you do not wait until the end of the distribution period to pick up your cap and gown.
Guest tickets can be ordered between April 28 and May 12 via your my.ucla. The first four tickets that you order are complimentary. Up to an additional 26 tickets can be ordered for $10 per ticket. A wait list for an additional ten tickets is also available. You will be asked to complete the Senior Survey online through your my.ucla when ordering tickets.
If you have guests coming in from out of town and need to make hotel and/or dinner reservations, please visit UCLA Commencement Hotel Locations and Dining Locations for more information. If you are planning to make dinner reservations after the ceremony, keep in mind that Commencement will not end until around 8:00 p.m. Dinner reservations should be scheduled for sometime after 8:30 p.m.
A professional photographer will be present to take photographs of each graduating senior as he/she goes up on stage to receive individual recognition. You will be able to access your proofs online shortly after the ceremony and will be able to order your photos and candids of other graduates through the photography company, Bob Knight Photo.
