William Sharpe Fellows Program for Undergraduate Internships

Employer Information

The UCLA Department of Economics and its Board of Visitors are launching the Sharpe Fellows Program for undergraduate internships to bring together top employers and our brightest undergraduate students. We invite you to participate in this program and benefit from having a talented UCLA undergraduate student on your team.

We are looking for…

Outstanding organizations to provide summer internships through our Sharpe Fellows Program. For consideration in the Sharpe Fellows Program, employers are asked to provide:

  • A paid internship for a UCLA undergraduate
  • A substantive learning experience
  • A mentor committed to guiding the intern's learning and success within the organization

We expect that employers providing Sharpe Fellows internships will offer full-time work for 10 weeks during the summer, though employers and students determine the official internship period and hours together. These internships should offer competitive compensation.

We will provide…

Through the Sharpe Fellows program, the UCLA Department of Economics and the leading alumni on its Board of Visitors will provide top employers with streamlined access to our best undergraduate students. The Department of Economics graduates nearly 700 undergraduate majors every year, with 300 of the most academically accomplished graduating in Business Economics. Only the best of these will be named Sharpe Fellows. Our distinguished alumni volunteers will interview and help select the students to be named Sharpe Fellows. The alumni leaders on our Board of Visitors are committed to guide and mentor this next generation of leaders from UCLA through this program.

We invite you to join us in this new program. The Department of Economics and its Board of Visitors will work with you to find talented UCLA undergraduates with a strong interest in your firm. The Sharpe Fellows Program will be a great way for you to connect with UCLA students that will contribute to your organization for years to come.
